How Do I Setup An Arlo Security Camera?

The Arlo setup procedure is broken down into four steps. To successfully set up Arlo Camera, follow the steps in the correct order.

Setup of the Arlo base station

You cannot expect your Arlo security cameras to function without the Arlo Base Station, which connects your home network to Arlo security cameras. Therefore, to complete a successful Arlo Pro2 setup, be sure to install Arlo Base Station.

Installing the Arlo base station:

  1. Utilize an Ethernet wire to link the Arlo Base Station to your router.
  2. Connect one end of the power cord to the Arlo Base Station's power port and the other to an electrical outlet. To turn on the Arlo Base Station, flip the switch.
  3. There will be an on/off button on your Arlo Base Station that you must press.
  4. Wait until the LED light for the electricity and internet turns green.
  5. Your Base Station is ready when both LEDs are green.

How Do I Sync And Set Up My Arlo Cameras?

Arlo Camera Setup

  1. The first step in setting up an Arlo camera, whether it's a Netgear Arlo Pro 2 or an Arlo Q, is to unlock the camera's battery compartment. To accomplish this, press and hold the latch while pulling back to release the compartment.
  2. Align the two batteries and set them close to the camera's rear while setting the other two batteries near the hinge of the battery compartment. The battery compartment should then be closed.
  3. Your cameras are now ready to sync.

Arlo Wireless Camera Sync

  1. The first step in the process is to position the Arlo Base Station and Arlo Camera close together, around 100 cm apart.
  2. You can find the 'Sync' button on the side of the Arlo Base Station. Press it for a few seconds.

    Note:
Avoid pressing the sync button for an extended period of time as this could cause the USB LED to flicker amber, thus blocking camera syncing.
  3. You will need to wait till the sync status LED becomes green.
  4. The 'Sync' button can be found on the camera; push it for a few seconds.
  5. A blue LED on the camera will blink to indicate that the syncing operation is complete. You must try again if the LED blinks amber, indicating that the sync was unsuccessful.
  6. The sync process is complete when the camera LED on the Arlo Base station displays a solid green light.
  7. For other cameras, the procedure is unchanged.
  8. You must hit the sync button on the Arlo Base Station and repeat the operation if the sync between the Arlo camera and base station does not finish within a minute.

Setup Modes:

A setup mode is used to programme and manage automated processes. You can keep an eye on your camera using these modes without logging into Arlo Login.

Arlo cameras are configured with one of two modes:

When the all motion on mode is on, a motion sensor will be on always without affecting the Arlo sensitivity level. As a result, whenever the camera detects motion, it will start recording a video clip and then transmit it to the person whose email address is associated with the primary Arlo account.

Motion sensors won't be activated in this mode, and there won't be any video recording or motion alerts to send via email.
